Sports groups affiliated with the Union of Jewish Front Fighters, organization of Jewish war veterans who saw service at the front during the World War, Now umber 125 and include over 120,000 active members, Walter Beck, sports leader of the veterans’ organization, revealed today on the occasion of the first anniversary of the sports association.
Affiliation of Jewish athletes with purely Jewish sports clubs was made necessary by their ouster from the sports organization when control of these groups was taken over by Nazi sports commissars.
Herr Beck pointed out that teams representing the Jewish clubs are allowed to engage in football matches against "Aryan" teams and expressed the hope that this permission would soon be extended to participants in other sports as well.
