The City of Munich has awarded its 1956 “Cultural Prize for Literature” to Jewish author Wilhelm Herzog, 73, who settled here in 1952 after living in Switzerland, France and America during the Nazi regime. His best known work is “The Dreyfus Affair.” Together with H.J. Rehfisch, he prepared a stage version that caused a great deal of attention in Germany shortly before Hitler’s advent.
