The inauguration of a Jewish Black Book, a documentation of German atrocities against the Jews, took place here last night at a dinner at the Commodore Hotel addressed by Eugene V. Kisselev, Russian Consul General, Herbert C. Pell, former U.S. representative on the United Nations’ War Crime Commission, Ira C. Hirschmann, B. Z. Goldberg and others.
The Black Book is being prepared jointly by the Jewish Anti-Fascist Committee in Moscow, the Jewish National Council of Palestine, the World Jewish Congress and the American Committee of Jewish Writers, Artists and Scientists. It will be published in June in several languages and will contain all available evidence on the crimes committed by the Germans as part of their deliberate policy of exterminating the Jews of Europe. Russia has already cont over 500 pages of documents here for use in the Black Book, Mr. Kisselev revealed.
