The CRIF, the representative organization of French Jews, decided today to make a vigorous protest to the Soviet Embassy against the recent trials in Moscow and Leningrad of Jewish religious lay leaders.
The CRIF decided after a lengthy discussion to send a delegation to the Russian Embassy to meet Sergei Vinogradov, the Soviet Ambassador to France. The delegation plans to call the attention of the envoy to the “anxiety” the trials and imprisonment have caused among French Jewry and to ask him to inform the Soviet Government about this reaction.
