The tenth annual nationwide celebration of Jewish Book Month begins tomorrow under the auspices of the Jewish Book Council of America, sponsored by the National Jewish Welfare Board.
Hundreds of Jewish Community Centers as well as synagogues, Jewish schools, libraries, community and youth councils will participate through exhibits, lectures, forums, plays and radio and television programs. Jewish chaplains in the U.S. and overseas will conduct a variety of book events in camps and military and veterans hospitals. The Voice of America will beam a talk on Jewish books to Israel on November 12th, with Rabbi Philip Goodman, executive secretary of the Jewish Book Council, as featured speaker.
