One of the greatest athletes in the history of Muhlenberg College was graduated this week when Morris Weiner of Newark, N. J., was awarded a diploma.
Weiner won twelve varsity letters and was a star on the football, basketball and baseball teams. He was captain of the football team and his field goal gave Muhlenberg the three points that defeated Penn State for the first time in Muhlenberg’s history.
In basketball he was a leading scorer, while on the diamond this spring he was so impressive that he has received several major league offers, including one from the Boston Red Sox. He is a catcher.
Another Jewish athlete graduated from Muhlenberg this week was Leo Rosenberger of New York City, who played football and basketball.
