Vandals destroyed more than 30 tombstones in the Jewish cemetery at Curitiba, south of Sao Paulo, Brazil, according to information received today by headquarters of the World Jewish Congress here. The Community Council of Curitiba immediately advised both the local police and the Parana State authorities.
Police investigations have not yet led to the apprehension of anyone responsible for the attacks. If local police action fails to round up the culprits, the central representative body of Brazilian Jewry plans to raise the matter directly with the Brazilian Ministry of time Interior, the report said.
