Simple and impressive ceremonies marked the dedication of the Torah of the Queens Jewish Center, Hollis Court Boulevard, Queen Village.
The exercises were opened by Dr. Murray Fierstein, president of the Congregation. Irving Ben Cooper, counsel to the New York City Commissioner of Accounts, spoke.
The presentation of the Holy Scroll on behalf of the community to the Queens Jewish Center was made by Jack Pecharsky.
The Torah was brought from the home of Rabbi Hyman Solomon by members of the congregation who formed an automobile procession, escorted by police. Isaac Coben carried the Torah into the Center. Cantor E.Casol owsky sang.
Taking an active part in the ceremonies were also Rabbi J.L. Hanhh, of Congregation Mt. Sinai Anshe Emeth, of Manhattan, Samuel Rosenbaum, Julius Rothlien, Jack Pecharsky and Nathan Tishman.
