Jewish Center membership during 1947 rose three percent over the preceding year to a high of 458,000, it was -disclosed here today in a report by the Jewish Center Division of the Jewish Welfare Board.
The total cost of Center operations increased 14 percent from $8,207,000 in 1946 to $9,361,000 in 1947, the statistical study revealed. In 74 Centers which reported on total attendance at group activities, a 10 percent increase was noted. The division’s 321 installations comprise in weight of membership and budget 50 percent of the entire field.
