The combined expenditures of all Jewish community centers and YM-YWHA’s reached a total of more than $14,000,000 in 1953, the national Jewish Welfare Board reported here today. The JWB also reported that almost half of the 550,000 membership of the centers and “Y’s” is composed of boys and girls of 17 or below and that the membership of girls and women is higher than it has ever been.
