Jewish charitable institutions are bequeathed the bulk of the estate of the late Harry M. Goldberg, formerly president of the East Side Chamber of Commerce, who died August 1, according to the terms of his will filed for probate Friday in Surrogate’s Court.
The will, dated September 22, 1931, bequeaths to the widow, Mrs. Jessie Goldberg, 50 Riverside drive, all the household and personal effects of the deceased, $25,000 in cash and $15,000 a year from the residuary estate.
The balance of the income from the revenue on the estate is to be divided equally among the Hebrew Orphan Asylum, Mount Sinai Hospital and Beth Israel Hospital. Mr. Goldberg also left $5,000 in trust to Mount Zion Cemetery, Long Island, for the upkeep of the family plot.
After these requests are fulfilled and should a balance remain, the will provides that Mount Sinai Hospital is to be given $5,000 to retain a bed in memory of Mr. Goldberg’s parents, Lewis and Minnie. Beth Israel is to receive $2,000 for the same purpose. Under the same conditions the Home for Aged and Infirm Hebrews of this city is to receive $3,500.
