A construction contract of over $15,000,000 for the Sinai unit of the Medical Center of the Associated Jewish Charities of Baltimore has been awarded to the Turner Construction Company of Philadelphia, it was announced today by Abraham Krieger, president of the Associated Jewish Charities.
The Medical Center building project, including the cost of the land and architectural fees and the already completed buildings of Levindale and Mount Pleasant, total approximately $21,000,000. The center’s three hospitals will provide 714 beds, 423 at Sinai General Hospital, 231 at the Levindale Hospital for the chronically ill and aged, and 60 beds at the Mount Pleasant Hospital for tuberculosis and pulmonary diseases, Ground, will be broken within a month.
