The Lake Placid Synagogue and the National Variety Artists Tuberculosis Sanatorium in Saranac Lake, N. Y. are named among the many beneficiaries listed in the will of the late Mrs. Fanny Henning of New York, a summer resident of this community for the past three years.
In her will filed for probate in New York there are listed 31 charitable, religious and medical institutions in this country and abroad which will receive a total of $146,500 in bequests. Eighty friends, relatives and employees of Mrs. Henning also share in her estate, which is estimated at about $365,000.
She left $6,000 each to the Lake Placid Synagogue and the National Variety Artists Sanatorium. The largest single bequest is made to the Institutional Synagogue, New York, and amounts to $35,000 to be used for a scholarship fund. Bequests of $5,000 each are also made to the Beth Israel Hospital, Jewish Theatrical Guild and Daughters of Israel of Harlem, all in New York City, and to the British Home for British Soldier Blind in London, England.
Mrs. Henning was the widow of Gus C. Henning, steel testing expert and inventor of a testing apparatus, who died in 1910.
