The Conference on Jewish Material Claims Against Germany announced today the deadline dates for the submission of applications by organizations seeking the allocation of Conference funds for the coming year.
For activity within Israel the deadline date for applications for the coming fiscal year is July 1, 1954. The fiscal year will extend from October 1, 1954 to September 30, 1955. Applications are to be addressed to Dr. Giora Josephthal, Jewish Agency treasurer, in Jerusalem.
For activity during the calendar year 1955 in all countries outside of Israel, the deadline for applications is September 15, 1954. Applications are to be submitted to the Conference on Jewish Material Claims Against Germany in New York.
The Conference stressed that the applications should contain detailed description of activities, including precise budgetary information, for which Conference funds are requested. By the terms of the agreement with the Federal Republic of Germany the Conference can allocate funds only for those activities that contribute to the relief, rehabilitation and resettlement of Jewish victims of Nazi persecution, in accordance with the urgency of need, the Conference pointed out.
