Jewish Colony to Name Park for King George

The Jewish settlement of Nathania, named after Nathan Straus, the late New York philanthropist, will mark King George’s coronation by changing the name of its Central Park to King George Park, it was announced today.

High Commissioner Sir Arthur Grenfell Wauchope and prominent British and Jewish inhabitants in the vicinity will participate in ceremonies at the colony, which was founded in 1932 by sons of Palestinian farmers.
