The Canadian Jewish Congress announced today that it has received acknowledgment from Dr. Emil Sommerstein, president of the Central Committee of Polish Jews in Warsaw, of receipt of 75 tons of clothing the Congress sent for relief of the surviving Jews in Poland.
The shipment, which included thousands of varied items of clothing, was a part of the relief program conducted by the United Jewish Refugee Agencies of Canada in cooperation with the Joint Distribution Committee. Similar transports have gone to France, Yugoslavia and Belgium.
