A resolution instructing its executive committee to launch a collection campaign among Jews of the United States, Great Britain and other democratic countries for the acquisition of 1,000 tanks and 500 bombers for the Red Army was adopted here today at the concluding meeting of the plenary session of the Jewish anti-Fascist Committee.
Collections among Jewish workers in Moscow, which started yesterday for the same purpose, yielded 45,000 roubles in one day. Messages received today by the Committee from various parts of the USSR indicate that Jews throughout the country have enthusiastically received the news of the decision to donate “Jewish tanks and bombers” to the Soviet fighting forces and that many are donating two days’ wages and more to the fund.
