Samuel Bronfman, national president of the Canadian Jewish Congress, today announced that the Jews of Canada are well on the way to carrying out the resolution adopted by the plenary session of the Congress in January to raise $1,500,000 for overseas relief work, thus doubling last year’s objective. The Jews of Montreal will be raising $450,000 towards this objective. The Jews of Winninpeg, Quobec city and other communities outside of Montreal have already raised their quotas for the $1,500,000 objective, Mr. Bronfman said.
