The Hebrew Tabernacle at 605 West 161st Street. New York, was dedicated Thursday nigtht.

Among the speakers were Dr. Nicholas Murray Butler of Columbia University, U. S. Senator Royal S. Copeland, Rabbi Stephen S. Wise of the Free Synagogue, Assistant Corporation Counsel Arthur J. W. Hilly. Rev. Dr. Christian F. Reisner, pastor of the Broadway Temple: Maurice Blumenthal and Rabbi I. Mortimer Bloom, rabbi of the Hebrew Tabernacle.

The synagogue. which is of modified Moorish design, will accommodate 1.450 persons. George and Edward Blum were the architects. The building was erected at a cost of $325,000.Leo Schwartz was chairman of the building committee. Louis Austern is president of the congregation.

The dedication sermon was delivered Friday night by Rabbi Rudolph Grossman of Temple Rodeph Sholom. On Saturday morning the consecration address was delivered by Rabbi Elias L. Solomon of Temple Shaare Zedek. Judge Sarnuel D. Lery will be the speaker at this morning’s services.

Representatives of the Jewish communities of the tri-cities which include Moline and Rock Island in Ulinois and Davenport in Iowa, atrended a meeting in Moline to launch the drive for $10,000 for the United Palestine Appeal. The campaign for the tri-cities quota of $10,000 will continue for two weeks.

Max Sklovsky of Moline is the general chairman of the campaign. He is assisted by Mrs. Harry Waxenberg, of Davenport, vice chairman.
