Members of the Congregation Ohavas Chesed of Philadelphia have purchased a site in Germantown, and will conduct a campaign for funds to erect a synagogue.
Germantown is the only locality in Philadelphia in which the Jewish community has no synagogue and community center.
Morris H. Starr, president of the Junior Council of the congregation, is heading the movement for the building of the synagogue.
