The Jewish communities in Leeds and in Birmingham have attacked the Anglo-Jewish Association for submitting its memorandum on Palestine to the Colonial Office.
The Birmingham Jewish Community emphasized that it reaffirms its loyalty to the Board of Deputies of British Jews and considers the Jewish Agency for Palestine the sole negotiator with the British Government on the Palestine question.
The statement of the Leeds Jewish Community read, “We are profoundly shocked to learn that despite universal protest, the Anglo-Jewish Association submitted its memorandum on Palestine to the Colonial Office.” The statement denies the right of the Anglo-Jewish Association to speak in behalf of the Jewish community of Leeds.
