The Union of Italian Jewish Communities will face a major crisis later this month when its executive body meets a second time to consider the resignations of Dr. Rafaele Cantoni and Dr. Renzo Levi, president and vice-president, respectively, of the Union.
The two men resigned some time ago, but have temporarily remained in their posts while the Union attempts to review the current situation. At its last meeting the Union’s executive body asked the two to reconsider and withdraw their resignations, but they refused. Subsequently, the executive asked them to continue in office pending the coming meeting.
