The Jewish Community Center of Washington, D.C., was dedicated yesterday.
The exercise began with the flag raising. Congressman Sabath presided. In the evening a mass meeting was held. Judge Irving Lehman and Senator Walsh of Montana, were among the speakers.
Because of the national character of the Center at the nation’s capital, the Jewish Welfore Board contributed $50,000 toward the Center. The total cost was $400,000.
Deputy Olivetti, Chairman of the General Fascisti Federation of Italian Industry, has been elected Chairman of the National Institute of Italian Foreign Trade which has just been formed in Rome. All the large Italian companies interested in export trade are members of the Institute.
Leonard Braun, well known tenor. will appear in several of the leading cities of this country, in a tour arranged by the Central Concert Bureau. Mr. Braun, in a program of Yiddish and Hebrew songs by Krein, Engel, Milner and others will present for the first time in this country, his distinctively Jewish program of melodies. He recently completed a tour of Europe.
