The 100th anniversary of the establishment of the YMHA, YWHA and the Jewish community center movement in this country will be celebrated in the fall of this year, it was announced today by Frank L. Weil, chairman of the centennial committee.
Mr. Weil, honorary president of the National Jewish Welfare Board, stated that Jewish leaders in all walks of life have joined the national honorary committee for the centennial celebration. The observance will conclude in the spring of 1954. It will mark the establishment in 1854 of the Young Men’s Hebrew Association of Baltimore.
