A delega tion of Jewish leaders met with the head of the federal police to express the concern of the Jewish community over the recent incident of vandalism in which windows in 14 shops in this city’s predominately Jewish commercial area were shattered or perforated by shots fired from a moving vehicle.

Dr. Nehemias Resnizky, president of DAIA, Dr. Juan Gurevich, DAIA vice-president and Ricardo Gordon, the secretary of DAIA met today with Gen. Edmundo R. Ojeda and told the police official that the window smashing was viewed by the Jewish community as an escalation of anti-Jewish activity. Ojeda said he shared the Jewish community’s concern and affirmed that all possible steps will be taken to deal with any repetition of such incidents in an effort to quell extremist actions.
