The Jewish community of Bielefeld has asked the state prosecutor to initiate proceedings against a former employee of the nearby town of Minden for insulting the Jewish community and instigating anti-Semitism.
The German stated publicly that “it was a pity that all the Jews had not been gassed or burned” in concentration camps. Legal circles here doubt that the community will be successful in getting state action since the German law acknowledges “collective insult” in very few instances.
