The Italian film company Ponti de Laurentiis has settled a libel suit brought by the Union of Italian Jewish Communities and Abramo Pipermo on the basis of a number of anti-Semitic sequences in films the company recently released. By the terms of the settlement, the company is obligated to apologize publicly in newspaper advertisements and to contribute the sum of 100, 000 lire to Italian Jewish charities.
