With city, state and medical officials in attendance, Jewish and non-Jewish, the new Home for the Jewish Aged was officially dedicated here today. Costing $250, 000, the Home has a capacity of 300. The State Director of Health for the State of Guanabara, one of the principal speakers at the ceremonies, voiced highest praise for the Jewish community of Brazil which, he said, “have worked energetically not only to develop trade and industry but also contributed vitally to social and philanthropic affairs.”
