The Jewish community of Curitiba, capital of the Brazilian state of Parana, today opened a weeklong celebration of the 50th anniversary of the founding of the first settlement in the city. Taking part in the ceremonies, were Nei Bragal, governor of the state, and Aryeh Eshel, Israel’s Ambassador to Brazil, Among the events to mark the anniversary was the opening here today of the annual national congress of the Confederation of Jewish Communities of Brazil.
