A letter written on parchment in the manner of a Torah scribe was received here by the offices of the Joint Distribution Committee from the rabbi of Inez-gaze near Agadir, expressing the gratitude of the community’s 175 Jews for JDC’s help following the Agadir earthquake disaster.
The Hebrew letter, which was started before Passover and which took several weeks to complete, was signed by Rabbi Shimon Ben Susan and the leading members of the community. The entire Jewish community of Inezgaze was evacuated at the time of the disaster and later returned to their homes. They are still under JDC care.
