The United States Supreme Court has refused to consider on its merits an appeal in a case known as Berman vs. Board of Education involving a suit by a New York Orthodox Jew against a state election law permitting use of churches as polling places.
The Court did not deem the Berman suit of adequate interest or importance to justify further consideration. It upheld the decision of the New York State Court of Appeals to dismiss the case.
