Marcus, acting political director of the ##.J.C., said that the messages were sent upon receipt of reports of violence against the Jewish communities in those two countries.Marcus added that the United Nations should assume responsibility for protecting the Jewish communities in Moalem countries while the implementation of the Palestine partition plan was being carried out. Jews in Peshawar, in Pakistan, and ##meshed, Izet and Ispahan, in Iran, Marcus disclosed, have been threatened with anni##ilation. Several Jews have been killed in Peshawar, Marcus said. The W.J.C. statement strongly condemned the “bloody acts of mass violence” ##incited by the ex-Mufti of Jerusalem and his associates to “inflame the Arab world against the national Jewish State in Palestine.”
