The American Jewish Congress, in a cable to Chancellor Konrad Adenauer, called today on the West German Government to halt the participation by German scientists in the development of “new and refined techniques of annihilation” by the Nasser regime in Egypt.

Rabbi Joachim Prinz, AJCongress president, charged that “hundreds of German technicians and scientists are working with the Egyptian Government on the manufacture of bacteriological weapons, chemical poisons and the utilization of atomic waste materials for military purposes.”

“We do not suggest the German Government approves or condones this use of German talent. Yet we cannot understand the professed inability of the German Government to protect itself from being drawn into Nasser’s avowed intention to finish the job that Hitler began: the destruction of the Jewish people, ” the cable said.
