A lengthy discussion of the discrimination by the Arabian American Oil Company against prospective employes of the Jewish faith, now the subject of a case brought by the American Jewish Congress, was held today by Elmer Carter, chairman of the New York Commission Against Discrimination, with Parker T. Hart, Deputy Assistant Secretary of State. State Department and legal officers participated in the talks.
Mr. Carter, after the talks, said that he came to Washington to clarify some obscurities that had arisen in the situation. He said he could not comment on the results of his conversation with Mr. Hart because the case initiated by the AJC was now before the New York County Court; pending a decision.
