The American Jewish Congress has appealed to the United States Government for intercession against the bombings of such open cities as Tel Aviv, it was announced today. The action was taken by the Congress’ governing council in response to a plea from Mayor Israel Rokach of Tel Aviv.
The Congress cabled a message to Mayor Rokach expressing “hope that American Government will issue solemn protest” against the bombing. The message added: “No crime against Palestine, wherever committed, can shake faith American Jewry that Jewish homeland will be rebuilt and will remain the secure possession and unassailable home Jewish people.”
