High Commissioner Sir Harold Alfred MacMichael today confirmed the sentence of death passed by the Haifa Criminal Assize Court early this year on Corporal Mordechai Schwartz, Jewish constable, for the killing of an Arab policeman. The conviction, for premeditated murder, was upheld by the Supreme Court last April. The Privy Council in London last week refused to permit further appeal in the case.
