The Jewish cooperative “Solidarity” has already organized and is operating 135 mobile repair shops for the cobbling of shoes and for various tailoring operations, it was announced here today. The mobile units set up operations in the vicinity of large factories and in villages in the countryside.
Among the expansion plans presently under consideration by the managers of the cooperative is the opening of a shoe repair unit in Warsaw which could cobble 2,000 pairs of shoes daily. Many Jewish technicians are now engaged in traveling through the countryside repairing agricultural machinery and radio equipment and in installing electrical equipment.
