Delegations from the French Defense Committee for Soviet Jews and the Committee for Jews in Arab Countries were excluded yesterday from the Orleans forum on “The Rights of Man in Danger.” The forum, which opened last Friday at Orleans University under the joint sponsorship of left-wing Protestant and Catholic groups, accused the Jewish delegations of being “Zionist propagandists who deny the rights of man.”
A spokesman for the Jewish delegations told the Jewish Telegraphic Agency they were prevented from exposing the situation of Jews in the Soviet Union and in Arab countries, the organizers having declared, “We are not here to cry over the plight of Jews.” Earlier, the Jewish delegations had protested against the forum’s refusal to denounce anti-Semitism as well as against the “vast Palestinian propaganda” distributed at the forum.
