Thousands of Jews filled the streets of the city today cheering Chief Rabbi Isaac Herzog of Palestine upon his arrival here from Naples where the visited Gen. Morgan, the supreme commander of the Mediterranean forces.
Zionist flag were flown from every Jewish home in Rome in honor of Rabbi Herzog’s arrival. A demonstration lasting three hours greeted him. He gave his blessings to the crowd, which was carrying banners of welcome. He was accompanied by Chief Rabbi David Prato of Rome and by leaders of the Jewish Community.
