The efforts of the Polish parties to bring about an inter-party understanding concerning the changes in the election ordinance have completely failed.

It develops today that the failure was due to the obsinacy of the Polish Right parties, who insisted that the new election procedure should be to the disadvantage of the national minorities by reducing the possibility of their electing a proportionate number of representatives.

In a statement issued today by the Club of Jewish Deputies it is pointed out that the new plan as advocated by the Right parties is “an attack on the vital interests of the Jewish population and is an assault on the constitutional rights of the minority groups.”
