The Jewish parliamentary club today voted against the government’s budget. During the debate on the budget, deputy Joseph Fischer protested against the appropriation of only 9,000,000 lei for Jewish religious purposes, one half of one percent of the sum set aside for all religious groups. He said that the Jewish appropriation should have been 45,000,000 lei even with the various reductions.
Fischer demanded greater government help for the Jewish student houses and payment of damages to the Jews who suffered from the riots in Borscha and Barlaceans. Because of the government’s attitude toward the Jewish demands the club voted against the budget, Fischer said.
