Deputy A. Ebner was challenged to a duel by the chairman of the Ukrainian Societies in Bukowina for an article published in the “Oestjuedische Zeitung,” in which Ebner condemned Petlura’s pogroms.
Dr. Ebner replied to the challenge, stating that he is ready to “give satisfaction” to the Ukrainian people, whom he does not accuse for the pogroms, but he is not ready to give it to their leader, who bears the responsibility of the pogroms.
