Deputy Goldstein, Jewish representative, yesterday protested in the Czechoslovakian Parliament against the communication credited to the Czechoslovakian Minister in the United States, sent to various bodies in Czechoslovakia, suggesting that Jewish lawyers from New York be not employed in patent and tariff matters inasmuch as certain American authorities are unfriendly to them.
Deputy Goldstein pointed out to Foreign Minister Eduard Benes that the tendency revealed in the Minister’s letter is contrary to the American constitution and will undoubtedly cause disappointment to a section of the American population which participated in Czechoslovakia’s fight for liberation.
The Jewish populace in Czechoslovakia also is indignant that a letter dealing with commerce should have evinced a racial viewpoint, against which it must protest, he said.
