Frank Goldman, national president of B’nai Birith, in an address at dedication ceremonies for a new building of the Ohio State Hillel Foundation, last night emphasized that “Jewish devotion to civilized values has been a icon to every generation and it can be a boon again.”
The new building, which will serve as a memorial to the late Edwin J. Schanferber, Columbus Jewish leader, is the first major Hillel Foundation building erected exclusively for Hillel student activities. Other speakers at the dedication ceremonies, at which 1,000 persons were present, included Rabbi Arthur Lelyveld, national Hillel director, and Howard L. Bevis, president of Ohio State University.
