The British Medical Journal today reported that Jewish doctors in Germany who have temporarily been given permission to practice due to the scarcity of “Aryan” doctors, are not permitted to engage “Aryan” nurses. Similarly, Jewish nurses are not permitted to assist “Aryan” doctors.
All Jewish doctors in Tunis are now obliged to register in a special census while non-Jewish doctors must swear to an affidavit stating that they have no Jewish grandparents, it is reported in the Depeche Tunisienne, a French-Tunisian newspaper reaching here today. The paper also reports that M. Letellier, the propaganda chief for North Africa appointed by the Vichy government, delivered a lecture in Casablanca in which he stated that “Petain saved France from the Jews and Free Masons.”
