Two displaced Jews were acquitted and two others were found guilty today on charges of rioting and assaulting two American soldiers at the Ansbach DP camp. The American Military Government court trying the four defendants sentenced the two convinted Jews to six months imprisonment, taking into account the one month they have been in jail awaiting trial.
A defense motion to release the two DP’s on bail pending an appeal was denied by the court. The Army officials, who admitted that two American soldiers provoked the fight, released them with a reprimand.
