The 1,100 inmates of the Torino camp for displaced Jews in Italy today held a protest demonstration against the attempts of local UNRRA officials to influence them against choosing Palestine as the country to which they wish to emigrate, it was reported here. The incident occurred when UNRRA instituted a new poll to determine the emigration desires of the Jewish DP’s in Italy.

The mass meeting was called off after the officials agreed to permit the camp committee to conduct the poll. The results revealed that only ten of the camp’s population desired to go anywhere other than Palestine. In the Crimean DP camp the Jews refused to participate in the poll insisting that they had indicated their choice many times previously.

From a camp near Turin it was reported that 60 newly-born children have been circumcised these recently.
