Education of Jewish youth must be the task of the entire Jewish community, Dr. Salo W. Baron, professor of Jewish history at Columbia University, declared here today. He was addressing an audience of 600, gathered to dedicate the new home of the Jewish Education Committee of New York.
The Jewish Education Committee of New York is the central Jewish communal agency for Jewish education in this city, conducting a consultation and supervisory program that reaches 700 Jewish schools and 145,000 children. The program reaches schools conducted by Orthodox, Reform and Conservative groups, as well as Talmud Torahs and Yiddish schools.
