Granum Berger, consultant on religious education for the Federation of Jewish Philanthropies of New York, made a strong plea for the development of education under communal auspices rather than under congregational auspices.
C. Bezalel Sherman, sociologist and author, stressed that Jewish education, because it is supplementary and is relentlessly pressed by internal and external factors, must address itself to all facets of American Jewish life.
