Intended to give emphasis to more widespread observance of the Jewish Sabbath, Jewish Education Week will be shortly sponsored through the country by the Jewish Education Association of New York.
Plans were laid for the celebration at a recent meeting of the Executive Committee of the Association. Members also arranged to hold an annual Chanukah dinner on Dec. 17 at the Waldorf-Astoria.
In connection with Jewish Education Week, meetings of parents’ associations will be held in the five boroughs of the city, their purpose being to solicit support for Jewish religious schools which are suffering from the depression. Headquarters of the committee in charge are at the Federation Building, 71 West 47th Street.
